Advanced Practice Providers are found throughout HH Health – from emergency departments and operating rooms to primary and specialty care clinics. Working under the supervision of a physician, these highly skilled medical professionals provide physical exams, order lab work and other tests, prescribe medications and help patients manage chronic health problems.

Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) & Physician Assistant (PA)
Working collaboratively with our physicians, nurse practitioners provide a full range of primary, acute and specialty health care services. Physician assistants are critical members of the health care team who assist physicians in our operating rooms and clinics.
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
CRNAs across HH Health play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality anesthesia care in surgical and procedural settings. Huntsville Hospital Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Work Hours:
Eight 10-hour shifts per pay period
CVOR Call:
- 1 week (Monday – Monday) (every 6 weeks) – Call back is light compared to CV programs of a similar size. Non-call positions as they become available
- Holidays and Weekends – Weekends are call only. Holidays are covered by call pool on a rotating schedule.
Huntsville Hospital performs approximately 1,200 heart cases per year, plus a variety of other cases including robotic thoracic surgery and structural heart procedures.
Huntsville Hospital Main
Work Hours:
Six 12-hour shifts after one 8-hour shift per pay period
HH Main Call:
- HH Main - 14 CRNA Call pool that covers all B1 & B2 call. Non-call pool CRNAs cover B3 call, weekends only (Saturday 7 a.m. – Monday 7 a.m.) 2-3 per 12 months
- Weekend – Staffed with CRNAs who request to work Saturday & Sunday shifts. Shifts paid are at a higher rate with incentive.
- HH Main Holidays - Holiday call CRNAs (Holiday lottery). Holiday call is one per year. Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.
Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children
Work Hours:
Six 12-hour shifts after one 8-hour shift per pay period
Women & Children Call:
- Weekday (end of shift – 7 a.m. next day) – 4 per scheduling cycles (8-week period) = 25-26 per 12 months
- Specialized Pediatric call team covering B1 Sunday – Saturday. B1 call for non-pediatric cases is 25-26 weekdays and 6-7 weekends per 12 months.
- No weekend or night shifts required. Holidays are covered by a holiday call rotation.
Athens Limestone Hospital
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday 7-3 Number System Scheduling
Athens Limestone Hospital Call:
- Weekend: One night every other week (paid day off if worked after midnight or First Out)
- Weekday: One weekend every 2-2.5 months
Decatur Morgan Hospital
Work Hours:
Monday – Friday, 7-3 Number system scheduling/Guaranteed hours
Decatur Morgan Hospital Call:
- Friday Night (end of shift – 7 a.m. Saturday) – One every 5-6 scheduling cycles (8-week period) = 1-2 per 12 months
- Weekend (7 a.m. Saturday – 7 a.m. Monday) – One every 3-4 scheduling cycles (8-week period) = 2-3 per 12 months
- Call Shifts: Average 4 call shifts each month (paid day off if worked after midnight or First Out)
Madison Hospital
Work Hours:
Rotating 8-, 10- and 12-hour shifts
Madison Hospital Call:
- Weekend: One Friday/Saturday/Sunday call every 10 weeks
- Weekday: One call shift every 2 weeks
