Patient Care Aide Trainee Program

Patient care aides work side by side with physicians, nurses and other health care professionals. Huntsville Hospital offers a program with all the classroom and clinical training you need to begin your journey as a patient care aide. This entry-level position is a great way to explore your potential in a dynamic health care setting.
Career Paths
Many patient care aides become licensed practical nurses or registered nurses. From there, you can pursue a lucrative career as a certified nurse practitioner or certified registered nurse anesthetist.

10-week Paid Pharmacy Technician Program

Pharmacy Technicians work directly with pharmacists to safely and accurately dispense medications. This entry-level position is one of the fastest-growing jobs in the medical sector and can serve as a launching pad to a lucrative pharmacy career. Huntsville Hospital offers a paid, 10-week pharmacy technician training program combining classroom instruction with practical experience.

Surgical Technologist Program

Surgical technologists are key members of the surgical team. They help set up the operating room, create and maintain the surgical sterile field, pass instruments supporting the surgeon and providers in a surgery and much more. This entry-level position is a perfect introduction to a career in the booming surgical field. This 6-month program trains you for success, while being paid.

6-month Paid Perioperative Nursing Program

Perioperative nurses are registered nurses who are trained to provide care to patients before, during and after surgery. Our six-month Perioperative 101 Program is taught at the Huntsville Hospital’s downtown campus; focusing on the role of the circulator in the operating room. The circulator’s role in the surgical team is to manage the operating room environment, which includes being the patient’s advocate, collaborating and communicating with the surgical team and ensuring a safe environment of care for the patient. Some of their duties include documenting surgical counts and handling specimens appropriately.

Program graduates who complete the Perioperative 101 Program typically begin working as perioperative registered nurses with opportunities to advance into education or management.

2-Year Associate Degree Radiography Program

Radiologic Technologists, also known as radiographers, perform medical exams using X-rays to create images of the body that are interpreted by a doctor for diagnosis. Radiographers can specialize in many areas including MRI, CT, mammography, bone densitometry and interventional radiography. Advanced certifications and degree opportunities exist within the imaging sciences. Huntsville Hospital’s accredited School of Radiologic Technology provides all the education and clinical training you need to get started in your new career.
